Consulting
Strategos has the capability to provide personalized,
flexible and scaleable consulting services for churches wanting to start or change their security presence
as well as personal protection services for churches that have
a specific requirement or need related to pastoral protection.
When any organization makes a decision to formalize
or professionalize their response capabilities in the areas of
safety & security they do so based on one or both of two reasons:
-
FREQUENCY
of incident that could occur
The likelihood of an incident occurring within your church
congregation. In other words because of the likelihood that
member(s) or visitor(s) could experience a medical emergency or
security emergency. Additionally these decisions are made based
on protecting church investments of real assets in regards to
physical security as well.
-
IMPACT
of the incident once it does occur
What the impact or result of the incident that we are trying to
either prevent or immediately mitigate once it does occur. In
other words although the likelihood of a church shooting
occurring during a church service is very unlikely based on the
statistics, but we choose to prepare for this UN-likely event in
hopes of preventing it before it occurs OR responding to the
event very quickly and effectively if it does occur. The reason
we make this decision to prepare is because of the tremendously
negative impact it will have on the church membership,
individuals affected and the long lasting psychological impact
it will have on members and visitors.

When evaluating the “frequency” vs.
“impact” factors of this important decision it is totally
natural to ask and measure the questions of
“What are the costs of doing something? Vs. What are
the costs of doing NOTHING!”
What
we have seen is the churches are actively looking for a solution
to deal with the safety of their “flock” but
they don’t know where to turn to find a training solution
that will provide them with a real response capability in a manner
that is by purpose, designed to fit into the environment and mission
of the local church . . . that being a place that provides and
combines the environment of comfort, refuge and worship but does
so without sacrificing the safety and security.
Churches and the insurance companies that provide insurance coverage
to churches are now beginning to attempt to qualify minimum guidelines
for various levels of security presence and the training that
they should receive as a result of the numerous inquiries.
In an attempt to answer these questions and qualifications in
advance Strategos describes in the following data our training
model and how it meets AND exceeds the needs and requirements
to both provide the capabilities that a church desires and manage
the liability exposure as a result of these increased response
capabilities.
